The Dodge County Free Fair was held in Kasson this past week. One day the heat was bad enough to postpone opening the midway until 5pm that day. On Thursday evening a power outage left most of Kasson in the dark for part of the evening. Still the fair welcomed 4-H and FFA kids and Young Riders to show their livestock and participate in events to recognize their efforts and achievements. Grandstand shows entertained each evening. Buildings were full of displays of projects, produce and handiwork. One hundred and sixty one years of celebrating the people of Dodge County. It is inspiring to see the next generation proudly showing their livestock projects and vying for a chance at showing at the state fair next month. See you next year at the fair.
