Larger Than Life Celebrates Seventh Year

Posted

Saturday, June 27th was the unveiling for the “Larger Than Life” exhibition in the Riverside Park in Mantorville. This year the artist participation grew from twenty-seven artists in 2025 to thirty-seven displaying their handiwork. A warm sunny day made the event an enjoyable one as the guests walked around the park and gazed on the new artwork while visiting with the artists. Each artist had an interesting story behind the portrait. Some were paintings and others photography selections, but each was a unique perspective with a special subject related to the artist’s experience.

The Kasson-Mantorville Lion’s Club was selling burgers and hot dogs, chips and water, while Mrs. Patty’s Sweet Treats sold ice cream treats. There were many crafter’s with tents displaying gift items for sale around the park as well. A local musical trio performed on the stage starting at noon. This year one could buy a raffle ticket for a dollar to win a chance at an artist’s original creation at the end of the day.

The artwork on the four foot by eight foot weather proof panels will remain on display through August for all to enjoy. So, stop by when you are in Mantorville and enjoy a stroll through the park to take a look at the many exhibits there. While in town take the time to patronize some of the local shops and businesses as well.
