Peggy Ann Brocker, 60, of Claremont, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a 5-year battle with Leukemia.

She was born on September 25, 1963 in Waseca to Louis and Verna (Wabner) Meyman. Peggy grew up on the farm in Waseca and graduated from Waseca High School in 1982. She worked for a short time at Brown Printing before continuing her education in Albert Lea to become a dental assistant. She worked several years as a dental assistant when she met Barry Brocker, and on August 25th, 1990, Barry and Peggy were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Peggy started her own daycare to help raise her own kids as well as taking care of the children of families around her. After the kids were grown up and she worked as a dietary aid at KODA and as a culinary prep at the Blooming Prairie Schools, she later developed health complications which would eventually lead to her Leukemia diagnosis.

Birthday’s, and holidays were very special to Peggy, but Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was known to be the matriarch of the family and she knew how to show you tough love, but as soon as she made a smart remark to you then you knew that she liked you. Peggy was known for her cooking and all her recipes that she had in her head; adding a dash here and a dash there to get that perfect flavor. Peggy loved her family dearly and loved to spoil the grandkids and her dogs.

She is survived by her husband Barry Brocker of Claremont; children, Sam (and Joey) Lorentz of Kasson, Josh (and Amanda Lisowski) Brocker of Claremont, Gabby Brocker of Claremont; grandchildren Nova Sollinger, Tobias Arndt, Ava Lisowski, and Baby Lorentz due in May; brother, Jim (and Jennifer) Meyman and their children Abi and William of Owatonna; nephew Robert Meyman of Minneapolis; niece, Rebecca (and Justin) Loehr of Rochester; nephew Zack (and Pia) Meyman of Waseca, nephew Cory Meyman of AZ, niece Jessica Starkey of Waseca

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Verna Meyman; brother, Joseph Meyman; and sister Susan Meyman.

Visitation was at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:30AM at Zion Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Billie Jo Wicks officiated, and the interment was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ellendale. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Those that attended the funeral service were encouraged to wear bright and fun colors, or wear purple as that was her favorite color.
