Elder Network is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that was formed in 1988. We have been serving Dodge County since 2022, and are working to provide the community with supportive services and information for older adults and caregivers. We want to take the time to bring awareness to preparing and planning for emergencies as September is National Preparedness Month.
This month promotes natural disaster planning throughout the year to ensure safety for individuals and families. We also know that medical crises like hospitalizations can cause stress to families and their loved ones. Sometimes a caregiver can get into a situation where they are unable to take care of themselves and their care receiver.
That’s why Elder Network is hosting a free 2-hour workshop called, “A Caregiver’s Guide to Planning for the Unexpected” on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026 from 1-3pm at the Dodge Center Public Library (13 1st Ave NW, Dodge Center, MN 55927).
Attend this workshop to learn more about caregiver-specific emergency planning and hear from Mayo Clinic Social Workers and Home Health Agencies.
Pre-registration is required by October 18th. Our Dodge County staff member, Pa Cha Vang, is available to contact to register for the workshop, caregiver support, educational opportunities, and referrals. Feel free to contact Pa Cha at 507-285-5272 or pachav@elder-network.org.
