Brian Linton Vail, age 76, died February 27, 2024 at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, MN. He was born September 17, 1947, in Breckenridge, MN to Shirley and Charles Vail and grew up in Milnor, ND graduating in 1965 from Milnor High School.
Brian worked for the railroad, for the rural electric cooperative and custom combining.
He obtained a degree in elementary education at Valley City State College, taught one year in Hoople, ND then in West Concord before returning to trade school in Mankato for air conditioning and heating. He worked with his good friend Neil Wheeler in construction before operating ‘Brian’s Repair’ for many years.
Brian loved music and dancing. He enjoyed taking care of HVAC needs of people in the surrounding communities and gathering with friends in West Concord for coffee. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Brian is survived by his wife Eileen (Schutt), son Shane (Kathy), grandson Joshua; sisters Sherry Lemmer and Jill (Rick) Arnold; brothers Bruce (Angie) and Kent (Carla); in-laws Pat (Dick) Kuehn, Judy (Don) Olson, Ron Else, Pamela, Marcy, Robert (Darla) and Michael (Deb) Schutt.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Nikki, parents, sisters Candace Quick, Sheila Casey and Beth Newton, and in-laws Hannah and Arnold Schutt, Karen Edison, Delmont Schutt, and Deanne Else.
Services will be held March 8th at Trinity Lutheran in West Concord with visitation at 10 and the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Milnor, ND at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to the Fire Department or the American Legion in West Concord.
