Norbert Arnold Scherger, 81, of Dodge Center, MN passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, MN surrounded by his loving family. Norbert Scherger was born in Kasson, MN on July 14, 1942, to Arnold and Rose (Ohm) Scherger. He graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1960. He married Deloris Koperski on July 12, 1964.
Norbert took over the family farm and farmed until he retired in 2017 and moved to Dodge Center. They had 3 children: Judy (Keith) Kuipers, Susan Scherger and Lynn (Mike) Krause. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN, where he served as an usher, a member of the Elder Committee, and an Elder. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Scherger; children, Judy (Keith) Kuipers of Anchorage, AK, Susan Scherger of New Brighton, MN, and Lynn (Mike) Krause of Oronoco, MN; grandchildren, Stephanie and Logan Krause of Oronoco, MN and Elizabeth Krause of Vilseck, Germany; brother-in-law, Donald (JoAnn) Radue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arlene and brother-in-law, Duane Buker and Marcella (Sally) Radue.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 8th Ave NW in Kasson, MN with Pastor Karl Christie officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.
